Caterpillar & Capstan Drive & Motor Upgrade

Your caterpillar or capstan may be stopped because of an obsolete drive or motor. Don't keep your customers waiting and let your reputation suffer. Have your process requirements changed; do you need more speed or more pulling force from the equipment?

Description

Belt Caterpillar BCA 21 is a true workhorse of the cable industry. It is used in various insulation and sheathing applications, from low voltage to high and extra high voltage cables.

It has a robust steel frame. The gripping pressure and the belt tension are pneumatically adjustable. Belts are driven through a gear transmission by an AC motor.

The power transmission includes one speed controlled AC motor directly connected to an angle gearbox. The motor is equipped with an electromagnetic brake.

Technical characteristics

Cable diameter, max. 180 mm
Cable diameter, min. 4 mm
Pulling force, max. 25 kN
Line speed, max. 200 m/min
Gripping length 2100 mm
Pressing force at 5 bar 27 kN
Dimensions L x W x H 3240 x 1040 x 1655 mm

Exact values depend on the assembly.

Options

  • Air conditioning
  • Compressed air reservoir
  • Compressor
